May 4 - 8Please check canvas for FRQ practice.
It is important that you answer the FRQs on a document and then submit them into canvas, please. I am also sending out the scoring guidelines for you to read over and double check as well. Please ask any questions! You have 3 FRQ's due this week. FRQ 4 due Tuesday 5/5 FRQ 5 due Friday 5/8 Please read the reminds I sent out last week with updates from the College Board. Let me know if you have questions. April 27 - May 1College board is going to be pushing stuff out early this week. It is important you check the email associated with your college board account!
I cannot stress or encourage you all enough that it is imperative if you are taking the AP exam you need to using your college board account to see practice questions, videos, exam info/updates, and complete the progress check practice FRQs (these are what you will submit on canvas). When answering FRQ's be straight to the point, use vocab in the question and answer only what the question is asking. Please contact me with any questions! The remainder of the semester will focus on the AP exam content. If you are happy with your grade as of March 13 and do not wish to continue, the school is requiring us to receive and email from your parent/guardian. Monday - watch the unit 2 videos provided by the college board and work on unit 2 FRQs. The videos are also linked in your canvas assignment. Tuesday - work on unit 2 Wednesday - submit unit 2 FRQ on canvas Thursday - work on unit 3 videos and FRQ Friday - submit unit 3 on canvas April 20 - 24 Digital Learning DaysHappy Monday! We have unit 7 to get through for those of you taking the AP exam, so I will get that unit page up today. For now, I am opening all of the unit FRQ's on college board. Since the AP exam is only 2 FRQ's we will focus on finishing the required units and practicing FRQ's while reviewing units 1-7. Please look at the FRQ's on college board but DO NOT submit work through college board. I will have an assignment in Canvas for each unit FRQ. I strongly recommend if you are taking the AP exam you: watch the video for each unit and then answer the FRQ. The videos will be linked in Canvas and are also on the college board website (link to videos here).
I also ask that you get on the college board website (link) and read over the exam details, if you have not done so yet, to make sure you are informed and set on technology you will need. Monday - Review unit 1 : watch video(see link above or link is on canvas assignment) and answer FRQ Tuesday - work on FRQ 1 Wednesday is Earth Day! - Finish and submit FRQ unit 1 on canvas; Work on unit 7 guided notes and videos; take a minute to look up how the air quality has improved around the world in the last couple months. Thursday - Work on unit 7 guided notes and videos Friday - submit unit 7 guided notes. ***All other FRQ practice and videos will be due every couple days until the exam. Please let me know your interest in having a review for the exam through zoom. Please email me any questions you have to clarify content or anything! Take care and I hope you all are healthy and safe! ***Summative averages! Reminder based on info at the end of last weeks DL agenda: The summative unit grades you have can be improved by completing the corresponding unit FRQ's, I will average your FRQ with your summative. Please let me know if you have questions. April 13 - 17 Digital Learning DaysHi! I hope you are all safe and well and could relax over the break!
If you are planning on taking the AP exam please look closely at the college board info: click here for link and scroll down to AP Env to expand it. The units covered are 1-7, we are currently on 6. The exam is only two FRQ's. I am going to budget in time for you all to review FRQ's on the agenda.
Monday - look over the energy audits on the unit 6 page on this website. You will need to complete the energy audit as well as use the personal energy meter file. The leaky electricity sheet is good info. You will need to submit it by Friday. Over the next few days also think about how energy usage has changed and shifted. For example, we are doing way more dishwasher loads but overall less laundry.
Tuesday- work on the unit 6 progress check on college board, work on energy audit Wednesday - work on the unit 6 mastery on college board, work on energy audit Thursday- make sure unit progress check is completed on college board Friday- energy audit and meter file due on canvas *Based on the information from the county, I am currently adjusting grades that were lower than your average as of 3/13 so some of you may see "X's which does not impact your grade. Please let me know if you see anything I miss or if you have questions. Grades can only help you at this point and for those of you that want to improve your grade I will be offering some FRQ mastery for the three summatives given prior to 3/13. The reason for this is that we cannot give new summative grades and formatives only help your grade so much. The FRQ mastery information will come out early next week. We do have material to get through, especially if you are taking the AP exam on May 18. I highly encourage you to work on previous FRQ's and as we work through the course content I will budget more time for FRQ practice. It is so important that when practicing the FRQ's you try to answer them, then grade yourself with the scoring guidelines and lastly, read the best student responses (usually A). With the APES FRQ's you will probably start to see a pattern of potential answers that will get you credit.
