Honors Biology with Mr. Pedersen

Biology is the study of life and will be taught in five major domains: cells, organisms, genetics, ecology and evolution. Students will be required to take a comprehensive, state-mandated End-of-Course Milestone (EOC) at the end of the semester. This assessment will comprise 20% of the student's final grade. For Honors Biology students will be expected to conduct an independent research-based project, collect current articles dealing with issues in biology for classroom discussions, participate in a variety of hands-on laboratories to demonstrate mastery of the Georgia Performance Standards. Please refer to the syllabus for details. We will be using the Prentice Hall Biology: Exploring Life textbook for the 2014-2015 school year. CD-ROMS of the textbook will be available to check out for the entire year. All students were issued a code and password for the online textbook. Students will also receive Guided Reading workbooks and laboratory manuals as additional resources for the course. The links below should help to get you started; however, please refer to the various folders at the bottom of this page for a comprehensive list of all course materials, assignments, announcements and pictures. The class calendar to the right will have our daily classroom agenda, as well as any upcoming assignments.
